We must confess that Casimba passed us when it first launched in 2017. We can be forgiven I reckon given the plethora of new online casinos that popped up over the year. However, a little birdie told us we were missing a bit of a trick and we’d be ignoring Casimba to 777 Casino’s detriment. So, we thought we have a shufty and see if we could find out what all the fuss was about. Having explored the site in detail, we can see why its earned so many fans. It’s easy to use and blessed with a huge selection of games, especially for such a newcomer. Its not entirely without fault but it’s certainly an excellent entrant into the industry. Let’s take a closer look.
What Does Casimba Look Like?
Casimba is a decent looking site. There are some things we really like and others that are a bit average. The registration form was easy to use and looked fine without being spectacular. I’d extend a similar description to the ‘My Account’ section, which is often the area that the design team works hardest to perfect. There’s nothing wrong with how it looks here, but there’s little to shout about either. It’s just a bit meh. The same can’t be said about the games section though – it has some great features. The thumbnail images are familiar enough but arranged assymetrically to better catch the eye. There’s also a massive menu across the top that gives you one click access to a variety of useful filters. Some of the filters have been integrated really well. If you click to view the games by provider, you’re met with a logo for each. It’s probably really simple to integrate but it’s a little bit different and that’s important in such a saturated industry.
The games section seems to have received the most attention to us and it works well. Having browsed through the other pages, I haven’t struggled with anything but nothing has knocked my socks off either. The promotions page is fine but you have to scroll down through a list of everything when previews and ‘read more’ tags might have been a better option. The VIP section is fairly sparse and could be expanded upon while Casimba’s casino logo is small and partially covered by a top banner on some pages. The games page aside, you’d describe Casimba’s appearance as middling rather than spectacular. It’s far from the worse but would suffer in comparison with Unibet. Casumo. Yako Casino and other attractive sites. There’s room for a revamp at some point in the future.
Is Casimba Easy to Use?
The Casimba UX team largely keep everything simple. You can register within a couple of minutes having supplied the usual details (name, address, DOB, gender etc) and nominated a username and password for yourself. You don’t need to deposit straight away and can easily find your way back to the cashier section because there’s a big green ‘Deposit’ button in the top right hand side of any page you visit. When you do deposit, there’s a reasonable number of options available to you, although it’s not an exhaustive list. You can use Visa, Mastercard, Neteller, Skrill, PaySafe or bank transfer. The minimum deposit amount is £20 rather than our preferred £20 and you’re cash will appear in your account straight away.
As we already mentioned, Casimba has a really well designed games section. We love the sheer number of filtering options available at a mere click of a button. They’ve made everything as easy as possible, right down the listing the number of games in supply from each provider when you choose that filter. It’s great that they’ve included a timer at the top that ticks along to show the length of your session. You shouldn’t underestimate the importance of a casino that takes responsible gaming so seriously, it’s always a good sign.
We’re pleased too that Casimba has now incorporated 24/7 live chat customer support, which is something they didn’t have from the start, quite understandably. I’ve used it a couple of times at what I would call peak times and spoke with an agent in seconds. Our only slight criticism relates to withdrawals. Each is reviewed manually, so will sit in a pending state for up to 48 hours. This can cause significant delays and you may not receive your cash for five days. That doesn’t stand up to some of Casimba’s peers and we hope it’s something they address moving forward.
Which Games Can You Play at Casimba?
It’s not just the appearance and usability of the games section that you’ll love either. For such a new online casino, Casimba has developed relationships with a remarkable number of providers. A whopping 23 in fact! Some are small, some are huge. Collectively, they provide a varied and extensive selection of online slots that will keep even the most restless players interested. I also like the ‘Play a Random Game’ button that sits at the top of the games page. What better way of encouraging yourself to play something different once in a while? I should also mention that there are some providers listed here that I’d never come across before, like ‘Foxium’ for example. There are only two games, but I really enjoyed The Lost Riches of the Amazon when I played it. Probability Jones, Games Warehouse, Rabcat and Speldev are other lesser known providers represented here.
While some of those studios provide a handful of games, there are hundreds from the likes of MicroGaming and NetEnt. Most of Casimba’s free spins are attached to NetEnt games. Indeed, your a couple of parts of your welcome bonus can be used on a choice of any NetEnt game in the Casimba catalogue (and there are 171 at the most recent count). Quickspin is slightly under represented with just 4 slots available, but Play N’ Go and Playtech are the only significant providers that are omitted altogether. This has to be one of the most impressive games collections offered by any new online casino launched in 2017. The presence of NetEnt and MicroGaming also boosts the jackpot slot selection as well. You can play network progressives Mega Moolah, Mega Fortune, Major Millions, Hall of Gods, Mega Moolah Isis and Arabian Nights, as well as a clutch of local jackpot games as well.
The Casimba Welcome Bonus
Although Casimba don’t currently offer a no deposit bonus, they do provide you with various rewards across your first three deposits. The first deposit bonus is particularly generous as well. They offer a 200% bonus so you can effectively triple your first payment if you opt in for the extras. But they’ve set the maximum bonus amount at a whopping £5,000 so high rollers can take advantage if they want to do so. That’s not to the detriment of those with rather shallower pockets though. You’ll need to deposit a minimum of £20 to get anything at all, but that will qualify you for both the 200% and two other treats. Those are 50 free spins on any NetEnt game and 500 loyalty points. The latter is an unusual inclusion and makes a good impression. To break down the first deposit bonus, you would receive a £40 bonus if you deposit £20, leaving you with £60 to play with as well as your free spins.
Next up, you receive reload bonuses with both your 2nd and 3rd deposits. As is usually the case when such a sizeable 1st deposit bonus is on offer, the subsequent bonuses aren’t quite so big but they each come with another batch of free spins on any NetEnt game. Your 2nd deposit is worth a 50% cash bonus as well as the free spins bundle. If you continue to a third deposit, you’ll then pocket a 75% bonus and 25 free spins on a NetEnt game of your choice. Wagering requirements of x35 apply but you can choose to opt out of the entire welcome bonus package when you make your first deposit should you want to do so. The free spins are – as is usually the case – pegged at the lowest stake amount on the game you choose to play and you can bet a maximum of £5 on each individual spin when using your bonus cash.
The variety of different online slots is undoubtedly one of the biggest draws. It’s conducive to growth and means you get loads of chances to play new games in launch week. It’s appealing and provides Casimba with a great base from which to build. That segues nicely into another point too. You get the sense that Casimba, although an excellent new online casino already, has plenty of room for improvement.
It will be interesting to see where the team take the site and how much they can revamp key functionality. The excellent UX of the games grid could be extended to other areas for sure, but we’ve already seen how they released 24/7 live chat support. If the casino evolves, it could become even better. They also offer plenty of bonus promotions to regular players and there loyalty scheme looks great. The fact that they give you those 500 loyalty points up front is a good indication of their confidence in that scheme.
The Casimba Mobile Casino
In comparison to other new casinos, Casimba’s mobile Casimba is better than the desktop site. It follows a very similar format as you’d expect but it looks more contemporary on the smaller screen devices. It still maintains the unique features like the Play a Random Game button but it also includes more shortcuts to key functions and areas of the casino. Live chat support is incorporated along with a full cashier function so you can easily manage your account and play from an iPad, iPhone or Android device.
In addition to the practicalities, you have an excellent choice of games to play thanks to that rich selection of online slots from a multitude of providers. The games load quickly without skips and pauses and all the bonuses we’ve seen advertised are also available to mobile players. The site is fully optimised to work directly from your favourite internet browser so you don’t need to download any special software or an app before you play. Simply open your browser, punch in the URL and away you go.
Our Verdict on Casimba
I’m glad that Casimba was recommended to us, you can certainly understand the appeal of the site. It’s a solid all rounder with a great selection of games from a wide selection of large and boutique developers. The sites is designed intuitively and although it doesn’t look spectacular, there are little flashes of inspiration here and there that help improve the overall impression of the site. Casimba is an online casino that already ticks lots of boxes but we fully expect it to improve with experience as well. If you’re looking for a new place to play your favourite online casino games via your computer, tablet or mobile, it’s a highly recommended option that could become increasingly difficult to ignore.
